About the Rim to Rim Royal Gorge Races: 5K Road Run, Trail 8 Mile, Trail Half Marathon
The centerpiece of every distance here is a crossing of the Royal Gorge suspension bridge, which sits high above the canyon floor. The views down into the gorge are genuinely striking, and the bridge itself is wide enough to run across without much anxiety, though the drop is real. The trail options move through the surrounding parkland, while the road option is stroller and dog friendly.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at Centennial Park, with an earlier option in Colorado Springs mid-week. On race morning, pickup is at parking lot B near the welcome table. The race benefits Starpoint, a local nonprofit, and entry includes park admission. Kids have their own separate race after the main events.
