About the Windward Half Marathon & 5K
The race starts and finishes at a school, with a dramatic mountain range rising behind the course the whole way. The half marathon heads out toward Kailua Road while the shorter route goes the opposite direction, so the two courses split right from the start. Police and course marshals are posted throughout, and aid stations are spread along both routes.
The start area is in front of the school, with parking spread across several nearby spots, including a district park, the public library, side streets, and a couple of metered lots downtown. Packet pickup runs the afternoon before race day at a location announced closer to the event, with race-morning pickup available for those who miss it.
