About the Wildcats 5K and Kid Fun Run
The course runs through Goddard Memorial State Park, a wooded state park setting that makes for a quieter, tree-lined route. It is a park course, so expect some natural terrain underfoot rather than open road. The race benefits a local cheerleading nonprofit, and the atmosphere reflects that: cheerleaders are part of the scene, and there is a separate short fun run for younger kids.
Post-race, there are snacks, refreshments, and local vendors on site, along with music and photo opportunities with the Wildcats cheerleaders. The start area has the feel of a family gathering more than a traditional race staging area.
