About the Whitefish Turkey Trot

The course runs through downtown Whitefish, dipping through a tunnel, climbing up and over a viaduct, then winding through quiet residential streets before the final stretch follows Whitefish Lake and the Whitefish River back to the finish. The route is open to traffic, so volunteers and flaggers stand at most intersections. Snow and ice are a real possibility, and Yaktrax or spikes are worth packing.

The race starts and finishes outside the O'Shaughnessy Center. Earbuds are strongly discouraged given the open road and winter conditions. Runners and walkers go in separate waves. The local food bank sets up a donation drop, so bringing a few nonperishables from your pantry is a nice thing to do on the way out the door.
