About the White Elephant
The White Elephant takes place inside a state park, so the course runs on maintained trails through natural surroundings. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a short leash, which makes the start area feel less like a race and more like a morning in the woods with company.
Proceeds from the entry fees go directly to the park for trail upkeep and educational programs. At the finish, runners pick from a selection of wrapped gifts, white-elephant style, so nobody knows what they are getting until they open it.
