About the 3H Trail Half Marathon + DHRT 50K
The Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail is a converted rail corridor, so the surface underfoot is mostly smooth and flat with sections of roots and bog boards that ask for extra attention. Both courses run out and back along the same trail, which means clear navigation. Racing here in the Virginia heat is part of the deal, not a surprise.
Cash prizes are on offer for competitive finishers, and MooThru ice cream is at the finish. The start area has a genuine race-day feel, with competition at the front and plenty of space for those who just want to cover the distance at their own pace.

The 3H Trail Half Marathon + DHRT 50K has been held every year since at least 2021. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
