About the Westcliffe Turkey Trot
The course runs through Westcliffe with the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in view, which on a clear Thanksgiving morning can stop you mid-stride. Dogs and strollers are welcome on the route, so the field tends to be a real mix of neighbors and out-of-towners who made the trip for the holiday.
Packet pickup happens the morning of the race at Bluff and Summit Park, right where the race starts, so there is no extra stop to make. Warm drinks and snacks are at the finish line, which lands well when the cold morning air has had a while to settle in.
