About the Welcome to the 11th Annual SOB Run
This is a Saint Patrick's Day themed race, so expect green everywhere, from costumes to tutus to the occasional dog in a festive collar. Dogs are welcome on course, which gives the whole morning a loose, neighborhood feel. The route is chip-timed, so it is a real race if you want it to be, but the crowd skews celebratory.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at Southbank Original Barbecue, a BBQ spot right on the Fox River in downtown Yorkville, with race-morning pickup available at the start line. After the race, live music carries through the day and a parade follows, all centered around the same riverside spot where the restaurant anchors things.
