The course runs through Rob Fleming Park in The Woodlands, a well-kept green space with paths that suit a steady morning effort. The race is part of a nationwide simultaneous event where participants can name a teacher they want to honor, and that teacher receives a personal digital note of appreciation. The park setting keeps things pleasant underfoot.
Packet pickup happens race morning before the start, and an opening ceremony with a warm-up follows shortly after. Music, food, and an awards ceremony round out the morning. The post-race stretch runs for a couple of hours, so there is time to hang around the park after you finish.
