About the Watkins Mill Get Outdoors 6.6K 2026
The course is a certified trail loop around a lake inside Watkins Mill State Park, threading through forested paths. By race day the trees are turning, so you get color overhead and water views alongside. The terrain is soft underfoot, and the loop shape means you are never far from where you started.
Packet pickup the evening before is at a library in the Kansas City area, with race-morning pickup available at the park itself. After the finish, local food trucks set up near the finish area, and there is music and family activities while you cool down.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2025 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Watkins Mill Get Outdoors 6.6K 2026 has been held every year since at least 2023. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
