About the Waterville Marathon - Full/Half/10K/5K
All the distances start on the campus of Thomas College and head out along a state route into the surrounding countryside, passing through a stretch of rural Maine before looping back. The terrain is open road, and the out-and-back shape means you retrace familiar ground on the return. There is no time limit, so slower paces are genuinely accommodated.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a nearby spot called The Maine Experience, with a race-morning option at the registration tent. Personal hydration bottles can be dropped at the start and retrieved at water stations along the course. A vendor area operates at the finish line.
