About the WAAV Strides For Safety
The course circles Lake Quannapowitt, a loop around open water with views across the lake most of the way. The route is paved and flat throughout, and the fall foliage along the shoreline gives the whole thing a seasonal feel. The race raises money for a local domestic violence support organization, so there is a cause behind the entry fee that most people here know about.
The start and finish are at The Lakeside Inn, right on the water. Post-race, there is beer for runners and a bouncy house and face painting for kids who come along, so the finish area tends to stick around for a while.
