About the Pirate 5K & 13.1M at Hickory, NC (06)
The course runs out and back along a trail, repeating that loop several times depending on which distance you chose. It is a straightforward path, so you will see the same stretch of trail more than once, which makes it easy to gauge your effort and spot other runners heading the opposite direction.
Packet pickup opens a short window before the start and closes just before the gun. Parking and restrooms are at the trailhead, while the starting line sits north of the VFW, across from the intersection of a pair of numbered streets nearby.
