About the Veterans Day 5K, 10K & 15K

The race runs through English Landing Park and is named in honor of a local runner who served in the military and spent years working with the VFW. A portion of proceeds benefits the VFW Foundation, which supports active troops, military families, and veterans. Several distance options make it a good fit for runners at different points in their training.

Packet pickup runs the afternoon before the race at a local running company, with a race-morning option available at the park as well.

Common Questions About the Veterans Day 5K, 10K & 15K

Will I finish last at the Veterans Day 5K, 10K & 15K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 33:24, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:10:02, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Veterans Day 5K, 10K & 15K a good first 5K?

A field of 242 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Veterans Day 5K, 10K & 15K?

The 5K winner ran 16:10 while the median finisher took 33:24. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
