About the Ventura Turkey Trot
The course is a loop through the area around the Ventura Auto Center, and the organizers describe it as flat and fast. The route changed this year due to road construction, so if you have run it before, expect something a little different underfoot. A food drive runs alongside the race, and you can drop off canned goods at the start.
Packet pickup happens either the evening before at a local running store on Thompson Boulevard, or on race morning at the start area near Hofer Drive and King Street. Parking takes some planning: a vacant lot on Auto Center Drive lets you leave quickly after finishing, while a closer dealer lot may have you waiting until the Kids run wraps up. Street parking in the industrial area fills early.
