About the Unity in Motion 5K

The race runs through EpicCentral Park, a community park along a major highway frontage in Grand Prairie. The course is open to runners and walkers, and the event is tied to Black History Month, with the surrounding celebration reflecting that directly.

After the race, there is a post-race party with live music, local vendors, and speakers. Packet pickup the evening before is held at a bar and entertainment venue nearby, which makes for an easy stop if you are coming from that direction.

Common Questions About the Unity in Motion 5K

Will I finish last at the Unity in Motion 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 47:54, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:27:10, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Unity in Motion 5K a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (57 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Unity in Motion 5K?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 22:17 while the median finisher took 47:54. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
