About the United Way of Marathon County Turkey Trot 2026
The course runs through downtown Wausau, starting and finishing at the block plaza in the heart of downtown. The route was flipped this year to give the field more room to spread out early, which makes a real difference in a race this size. Dogs on leashes are welcome, and so are strollers, with families lining up toward the back to keep the start smooth.
Packet pickup is held the day before at The Grand Theater, and someone else can grab your packet if you cannot make it, which helps thin out the lines on race morning. Christmas music is playing at the start area before the gun, which sets the tone for the whole morning.
