About the United Community 49th Reedy River Run

The longer course starts on Main Street and winds through downtown Greenville, passing through Cleveland Park and along the Reedy River before a downhill finish on Falls Drive. The route crosses the river repeatedly, touches the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and runs past Fluor Field. The shorter distance shares the same finish. Fast runners show up here; this race draws competitive fields.

Packet pickup is the evening before the race at a parking lot on Falls Street, across from the Grand Bohemian Lodge. Race-morning pickup is not available, so come the night before. After the finish, the adjacent parking lot fills out with food from Jersey Mike's, a DJ, and stretching and physical therapy options.

Common Questions About the United Community 49th Reedy River Run

Will I finish last at the United Community 49th Reedy River Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 10K field finished slower than 1:00:05, and the last recorded finisher came in around 2:07:03, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the United Community 49th Reedy River Run a good first 10K?

With 1,087 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 10K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the United Community 49th Reedy River Run?

The 10K winner ran 29:05 while the median finisher took 1:00:05. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
