About the Twin Anchors Copperhead Beer Relay 20K and Beer Mile
The Copperhead Beer Run is part race, part relay challenge, set on a hunting property just north of Poplar Grove Plantation outside Hampstead. The course runs through wooded terrain, and the organizers are upfront that you may share the trail with snakes. Before each loop, runners can take a beer or chocolate milk, with a time credit offered for doing so. Solo runners, pairs, and small teams are all welcome.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at Fleet Feet in Wilmington. The event itself kicks off in the afternoon with a Beer Mile before the main course opens. A live band plays later in the evening, and the race stretches into the dark, so a headlamp is worth bringing.
