About the Turkey Trot 5K
The course runs through George Wyth State Park, so you are moving through wooded, natural surroundings from the start. It is a Thanksgiving morning race, which gives the whole thing a holiday feel without anyone having to announce it. Expect a mix of regulars and people who ran their last race around this same time last year.
There is a short untimed dash for kids alongside the main event, which means the start area tends to have a lot of families milling around before the gun. It is a good morning to arrive a few minutes early and get settled before both races get going.
