About the Death by 5k Waterloo
Death by 5k is a timed endurance challenge held at George Wyth State Park, where runners complete repeated efforts across a full day and night. The course runs out and back along a paved trail beside the Cedar Valley Lakes, so the surface is smooth and the route grows familiar quickly. The difficulty is cumulative, not technical.
Race headquarters is the Canfield Shelter, and participants can rest between efforts in a tent, hammock, or their vehicle. Hot meals come out at regular intervals through the night and into the next morning, with snacks and drinks available the whole time. You will not be waiting long between chances to eat.
