About the Turkey Trot 5K & 1K Gobble Kids Run Little Elm

This one runs on Thanksgiving morning in Little Elm, starting and finishing at a tap house. The course is open to runners and walkers of all paces, and the kids' fun run keeps the youngest ones involved without the pressure of a timed event. The whole setup leans toward a holiday outing rather than a race-day grind.

After the race, the tap house hosts the post-race scene, with beer or mimosas for those old enough and pumpkin spice donuts on hand for everyone. The benefit side ties into local pet adoption, so there is a cause behind the morning beyond burning off the pre-feast calories.

Common Questions About the Turkey Trot 5K & 1K Gobble Kids Run Little Elm

Will I finish last at the Turkey Trot 5K & 1K Gobble Kids Run Little Elm?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 37:55, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:13:11, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Turkey Trot 5K & 1K Gobble Kids Run Little Elm a good first 5K?

How competitive is the Turkey Trot 5K & 1K Gobble Kids Run Little Elm?

The 5K winner ran 19:39 while the median finisher took 37:55. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
