About the Big Easy in Little Elm

The Big Easy in Little Elm is a Mardi Gras-themed evening race with a festive atmosphere baked into the whole event. The route is short and accessible, set up for a party as much as a run, with food trucks, live music, art vendors, and a crawfish boil waiting at the finish.

The race runs in the early evening, so plan accordingly. Picking up your packet in advance means free parking at the venue. Stick around after the run for the full carnival-style programming, including a king cake eating contest and best-dressed awards for individuals and groups.

Common Questions About the Big Easy in Little Elm

Will I finish last at the Big Easy in Little Elm?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 40:06, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:10:41, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Big Easy in Little Elm a good first 5K?

A field of 608 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Big Easy in Little Elm?

The 5K winner ran 18:27 while the median finisher took 40:06. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
