About the Turkey Shuffle - Houston

The course runs through Oyster Creek Park, a greenbelt setting where the trail winds through trees and open parkland. In late autumn the shade is pleasant and the surroundings are quieter than a road race. A kids dash runs alongside the main distances, so families tend to make up a big part of the crowd.

A DJ keeps things moving at the start and finish area, announcing runners as they come in. There is a costume contest with a Thanksgiving theme, and snacks and drinks are set up at the finish tent. Age group awards are handed out on site before things wrap up.
