About the Turkey Shuffle - Dallas
The Turkey Shuffle runs through Texas parks and greenbelts near Ted Polk Middle School in Carrollton, with fall foliage along the trail routes. The course offers several distance options, from a short kids sprint up through longer runs, so households with mixed abilities can all participate on the same morning. The terrain follows greenbelt paths through autumn scenery.
Post-race, there is a rally tent with snacks and refreshments. A DJ keeps things moving through the finish area, and age group awards are announced live. The costume contest, judged on Thanksgiving spirit, is a genuine centerpiece, with a trophy called the Biggest Turkey going to the most creative outfit.
