About the Rowlett Holiday 5K & Fun Run
The course rolls out from a high school track, then heads out and back through a park trail behind the campus. The surface switches between concrete and natural terrain, with a few narrow stretches, so it is not a smooth road race. The trail section runs through what the organizers call Pecan Grove Park, and that portion gives the route a different feel from the campus section.
Packet pickup opens before the race at the entrance to the high school football field. Parking is available behind the school, though there may be competition for spots from other campus activity that morning. A small amount of additional parking sits near the front of the school along the highway frontage.
