About the Turkey Day 5K

This Thanksgiving morning race runs through Sanford and draws a broad crowd, from people chasing age-group awards to families pushing strollers. Before the start, a costume contest judged by crowd applause makes the corral livelier than most. The race benefits a local social services organization, and participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food or used running shoes to donate. Coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts are at the finish.

Parking is a short walk from the start line, and law enforcement directs traffic from the main road in. Packet pickup runs at a running store in Lake Mary during the days before the race, with race-morning pickup also available at the start area.
