About the Tuesdays In The Park Ice Cream 5k & Kids Fun Run
This is a flat, fast course through Riverfront Park along the Schuylkill River, the kind of route that draws people who want a quick evening effort without much ceremony. The kids fun run goes off first, so there are usually small children finishing up as the main field is warming up.
Ice cream sandwiches come out at the finish for everyone who runs. Beer is available nearby at a biergarten a few blocks from the park, so the post-race hang tends to stretch a bit longer than usual.
