About the Trudy Dunbar Memorial 5K Turkey Trot & 1 Mile Gobbler Trot
The course runs along a riverwalk out toward a lighthouse and back, so the river is with you for most of it. It is an out-and-back, which means you pass other runners on the return, and the lighthouse makes a clear turnaround marker. The terrain is paved and the route stays close to the water the whole way.
Race morning check-in and bib pickup happen inside a senior center on Main Street, which keeps things warm before the start. Division winners take home a prize turkey rather than hardware, which gives the finish line a bit of a different energy than most fall races.
