About the 19th Annual Trot Against Poverty 5K

The Trot Against Poverty runs on Thanksgiving morning in Vero Beach, with a course that draws a big crowd including families pushing strollers and competitive runners chasing age group awards across a wide range of categories. A giant inflatable turkey named Turkey Tom anchors the start area and tends to be the morning's unofficial mascot for photos.

Packet pickup happens at the United Against Poverty campus on the two weekdays before the race, during daytime hours. The campus also serves as the organizational home for the charity the race supports, so the connection between the event and its mission is pretty visible from the moment you arrive.
