About the Trick or Treat 5K Challenge
The course runs through Shoaff Park, a timed route with mandatory candy stops along the way where you pause, eat a piece of Halloween candy, and keep going. Costumes are encouraged, and there is a contest before the start for individual and group entries. It is a real race with a clock, but the candy stops make sure nobody takes it too seriously.
A coffee truck parks near the finish after the race, serving fall drinks including pumpkin spice lattes. Each registered runner gets a drink credit to use there, which makes the post-race hangout a bit more of an occasion.
