About the TreesUpstate Turkey Day Run
The longer course winds through several parks downtown, picking up sections of a paved trail along the way. The shorter option stays entirely on roads. Both distances start together in corrals sorted by pace, so faster runners go first and walkers bring up the rear. Costumes are a genuine part of the morning, with plenty of turkeys, pilgrims, and trees in the crowd.
Packet pickup runs the few days before Thanksgiving at a local running store and, on the final evening, at a brewery nearby. There is no race-morning pickup and no race-morning registration, so arriving without a bib means missing the start. Awards, including cash for top finishers, are picked up in-store after the race.
