About the "Track the Future 5K"
The course runs on the Bassett High School cross country trail at the Smith River Sports Complex. It is a proper trail surface through what a cross country course typically offers: natural terrain, some turns, and a feel that is nothing like a road race. The setup here is clearly built around a school athletics program, which gives the morning a straightforward, purposeful character.
Packet pickup is at the Golf Range on the morning of the race, wrapping up before the start. The complex gives you a clear home base, so arriving a bit early leaves time to find your footing before things get going.
