About the Tiger Trail 5K Run/Walk
The course runs out and back along the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail, passing alongside a college campus on the way. The path is paved trail, and the out-and-back shape means you retrace your steps on the return, so the landmarks are familiar by the time you finish. The proceeds go toward youth hockey scholarships in Colorado Springs.
The race is a fundraiser for a local amateur hockey association, so the crowd around the start and finish tends to be hockey families as much as running regulars. That mix gives the morning a different feel than a typical road race.
