About the Tidewater Striders Scholarship 5K & Kids Mile

The course starts outside the Virginia Beach Sportsplex, loops through the parking lot, then picks up a trail behind the building before finishing inside the Sportsplex itself. The kids mile stays in the parking lot and also finishes inside. The terrain shifts between pavement and trail, so the surface changes partway through.

The after-party is held inside the Sportsplex, with beer, pizza, and non-alcoholic drinks. There is a raffle with prizes that include race entries, hotel stays, and sporting event tickets. Packet pickup the evening before is at a local running store in Virginia Beach.
