About the Breathe n Run 5k for Pulmonary Fibrosis

This race runs along the Atlantic Avenue corridor in Virginia Beach, close to the oceanfront. It is a flat, out-and-back style route on a beach-town strip, the kind of course where the salt air and early morning light do most of the work. The race honors a grandmother lost to Pulmonary Fibrosis, started by her granddaughters, and that story is present in the atmosphere.

After the race, everyone moves to FishTails, the restaurant right at the start area, for a post-race gathering. Part of what the restaurant takes in that morning goes toward Pulmonary Fibrosis research, so staying for food and drink is part of how the fundraising works.
