About the Tiblow Trot 5 Mile/5K/2K

The Tiblow Trot runs through Bonner Springs as part of the city's largest annual festival, Tiblow Days, so the streets have more energy than a typical morning race. Several distance options mean you see everyone from serious runners to families out for a walk. The course starts at the corner of two named streets right in the heart of downtown.

Packet pickup happens the evening before at a local venue, with a short window on race morning inside Kinfolk Created on Oak Street as a backup. Both spots are close to the start, so there is not much logistics to sort out before you run.

Common Questions About the Tiblow Trot 5 Mile/5K/2K

Will I finish last at the Tiblow Trot 5 Mile/5K/2K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 34:40, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:07:48, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Tiblow Trot 5 Mile/5K/2K a good first 5K?

It is a small race (193 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Tiblow Trot 5 Mile/5K/2K?

The 5K winner ran 19:05 while the median finisher took 34:40. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
