About the Three Little Pigs 5K Trail Run
The course runs through Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge, a working sanctuary outside Pittsboro. You loop through gravel paths that pass fields and forest, with the resident goats, sheep, cows, and birds visible along the way. It is a genuinely unusual setting for a trail race, flat enough underfoot but with plenty to look at.
A kids' run follows the main race, and food and drink vendors are on site afterward. The post-race trophy ceremony happens the same morning, so there is reason to stick around.
