About the YMCA Christmas Run
The race starts and finishes at Boise High School, with Santa on hand to send runners off. Costumes are a real part of the morning, and the crowd leans heavily toward families out together for a holiday tradition. Several distance options mean the group spreads across ages and paces. There are prizes for costume winners alongside the usual age-group awards.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the high school cafeteria, with the post-race scene in the same building. Blue Sky Bagels supplies the food at the finish. Awards are announced in the cafeteria as results come in.
