The course runs along the Boise Greenbelt, a riverside trail system that follows the water through the city. The route is scenic but genuinely wild in places: flooding, construction, and sinkholes can shift the path, and the organizers are upfront that conditions may force a change on race morning. Wildlife along the river is common enough that a pause, or a detour, is part of the experience.
