About the Sweet Pea Run

The Sweet Pea Run is a long-running Bozeman event with both a shorter and a longer distance option, drawing a wide range of runners from locals chasing cash prizes to families out for a morning together. Proceeds support several local running and community organizations, which gives it roots in the running scene here.

Bibs can be picked up at a downtown bank on Main Street in the days before the race, with race-morning pickup available at the Main Street and Bozeman Avenue start for those coming from out of town.

Common Questions About the The Sweet Pea Run

Will I finish last at the Sweet Pea Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 33:07, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:16:07, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Sweet Pea Run a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 523 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Sweet Pea Run?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 15:08 while the median finisher took 33:07. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
