About the Spilman Thomas & Battle Jaunt for Justice 5K

The course follows a paved riverside path along the Roanoke River, flat and running beside the water the whole way. The race raises money for a local nonprofit that provides free legal services to people who cannot afford representation, so the cause is part of the atmosphere. A short fun run for kids goes off just before the main race.

A local coffee shop sets up on-site after the finish with hot coffee and fresh donuts. There is a raffle drawing after the awards, with prizes from local businesses, and you need to stay to claim a prize if your name is called. Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at a local running store, with race-morning pickup available as well.
