About the Skeleton Run
The course runs through Fort Monmouth, a former military base with wide roads and open grounds that give the route a distinctive, slightly eerie character. Costumes are strongly encouraged, and the skeleton theme runs through the whole morning. The course is closed to traffic and timed with chips.
After the race, the party splits between two local venues, one a social bar and one a brewery, with live music, food, and vendors. A portion of proceeds benefits a local family support center on the fort grounds.
