About the Sam Lapidus Montclair Run
The race starts and finishes at the Levite Jewish Community Center, a wooded campus off Montclair Road. The course runs through the surrounding neighborhood, and the Thanksgiving morning timing means the streets feel quiet in a way they rarely do. Costumes are part of the culture here, with awards going to runners who show up dressed for the occasion.
Packet pickup runs the day before at the community center's main lobby, with a shorter window on race morning in the gym. Both options are on the same campus where the race starts, so there is nothing complicated about the morning.

The Sam Lapidus Montclair Run has been held every year since at least 2021. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 25, 2026.
