About the ROCKETSHOT 5K (in memory of Jamie McHenry)

The course is a certified Peachtree Road Race 5K route through Roswell, which means it has been measured and marked to standard. The race honors a teenager killed in a traffic accident, and the proceeds fund scholarships, awards, and school improvements for young people in the area. Live music plays along the route while you run.

The finish brings you back to a stadium, where there is food and refreshments afterward, along with a silent auction and raffle. A separate shorter fun run runs alongside the main race, aimed at younger kids.

Common Questions About the THE ROCKETSHOT 5K (in memory of Jamie McHenry)

Will I finish last at the ROCKETSHOT 5K (in memory of Jamie McHenry)?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 36:48, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:08:05, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the ROCKETSHOT 5K (in memory of Jamie McHenry) a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 266 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the ROCKETSHOT 5K (in memory of Jamie McHenry)?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 19:43 while the median finisher took 36:48. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
