About the Run For The Cookies 5K

The course runs through the Chattahoochee Nature Center, so expect natural surroundings rather than city pavement. Results from the in-person race qualify for a major local road race, which draws some runners who are specifically chasing that. Others are there for the cookie theme, and the post-race area, called the Cookie Village, has vendors, games, and refreshments.

Packet pickup is available before race day, and early pickup is strongly encouraged to avoid lines at check-in. Race-morning pickup is available if needed, but the organizers are clear that arriving early helps.

Common Questions About the Run For The Cookies 5K

Will I finish last at the Run For The Cookies 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 40:50, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:12:56, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run For The Cookies 5K a good first 3.1 Miles?

With 970 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run For The Cookies 5K?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 16:02 while the median finisher took 40:50. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
