About the Peachtree City Classic 5K/15K
The courses here run on Peachtree City's network of paved golf cart paths, which is not something you find at most road races. The route winds past lakes, through tunnels, and over bridges, with greenbelt on most sides. Both distances are USATF-certified, and the longer race carries an RRCA state championship designation, so the field tends to be competitive at the front.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the Frederick Brown Amphitheater on McIntosh Trail, which is also the race start. Parking is available at the amphitheater and at a nearby elementary school, with overflow lots a short shuttle ride away. The amphitheater entrance is off Peachtree Parkway, not the highway that most GPS systems default to, which is worth knowing before you drive in.
