About the HEART RUN Half Marathon & 5K/10K
The course runs along Bolsa Chica State Beach, flat the whole way. The half marathon does a couple of loops around the state park, pushing out toward the dog beach and back, with the surf audible the entire time. The shorter distance is an out-and-back from the same start area, turning near the main beach entrance.
The event is held in the far western parking lot, closest to the corner of Warner and PCH, but you enter through the main state park gate in the mid-section of the beach. The gate no longer takes cash, so have a card or a state parking pass ready. Free street parking exists nearby, behind a fast food spot at that same corner, with a short walk in.
