About the Hop Skip and Splash 5K Fun Run/Walk
The course runs along the coast in Huntington Beach, following the boardwalk with the ocean beside you the whole way. It is untimed, though there are prizes for the top finishers. Dogs are welcome on the boardwalk portion, and the route is stroller-friendly, so the crowd at the start tends to include a lot of families with young kids.
Parking is available in the city lot right next to the event, with entry off PCH. Check-in opens before the race starts, and free coffee is out while you wait. After the finish, Huntington Beach Firefighters put on a pancake breakfast, and there is live music from a local lifeguard band alongside activities for kids and a vendor area.
