About the Hare and Tortoise 8K/5K Run Walk, 1 Mile Fun Run
The race runs along the Capital Trail, a paved path that makes for a smooth, uninterrupted course. The route starts and finishes at The Meadows near the Jamestown Settlement. Several distance options mean faster runners and casual walkers share the morning, and the cause behind it, a memorial to two women lost to ovarian cancer, gives the whole event a particular weight.
The start area, packet pickup, and post-race gathering all happen at The Meadows, across from the Jamestown Settlement parking lot, which is the main place to park. After finishing, there is music and food on site, plus complimentary beer for those of age.
